Duration: 11 hrs. approx. The Arenal Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in the Americas. You may feel the ground tremble and see the night sky explode with ash and lava in a natural waters and be caressed by the cool night air while observing the stars and the incredible night sky above the volcano. At a convenient time after your arrival we will treat you to a splendid dinner. This is absolutely an evening you will not want to not want to miss in Costa Rica. Bring bathing suit & towel. Duration: 8 hrs. approx. Unbelievable vistas open up at every turn as you ascend Irazú Volcano. At the top, you can peer into its massive crater and walk along the moon-like landscape, where on a clear day you can actually see both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans! From there, we will descend past timeless farms and tidy villages to the historical city of Cartago, where we will visit the mysterious ancient ruins of a fallen church, and the beautiful Los Angeles Cathedral, home of Costa Rica´s Virgin Shirine. You´ll be dazzled by the rich displays of woodcarvings, statues, art, and local customs. We'll continue to one of Costa Rica´s most scenic regions: The Orosi Valley, noted for its profound beauty and rich soil. Coffee plantations blanket the valley, giving it a velvety texture from afar. The Reventazón River slices through the valleys floor, and colorful wild flowers bloom everywhere. Here you will visit the ruins of Costa Rica´s oldest church. Heading back towards San José, we´ll stop at the Lankester Gardens. This expansive preserve is a tropical paradise, housing over 800 varieties of exotic orchids, in addition to other tropical flowers and plants. Poás Volcano National Park
Duration: 5hrs. approx. The Poás Volcano is one of the word´s largest geysers with an awesome crater, over 1.5 km. wide! The Volcano is active, but completely safe for viewing. This tour begins with a beautiful drive through the lush coffee plantations and flower farms of the area. In addition to the volcano the Poás Park is a 9.884 acre preserve with rich tropical vegetation and animal life. The tour includes a hike through the surrounding forest that is teeming with plant life and exotic birds. The hike concludes at a restful, emerald green tropical lagoon. White Water Rafting

Duration: 11 hrs. approx. Fantastic scenery unfolds as you ascend Poás Volcano, passing lush coffee fields, fern farms, strawberry plantations and exotic flowers farms. You´ll stop for a traditional breakfast along the way, providing the energy to fully appreciate the colorful, steaming crater of this active volcano and the sulfur fumaroles that surround it. We will continue towards the Caribbean area. At La Paz Waterfall Garden, you´ll see some of Costa Rica´s most spectacular waterfalls, a butterfly garden, a hummingbirds sanctuary, and some of the country´s most striking surroundings. The, you´ll enjoy a relaxing boat ride on and some of the country´s most striking surroundings. Then, you´ll enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the Sarapiquí River, where many species of birds and mammals live amid the dense vegetation, making this a great river to see lots of wildlife. Before we return to San José, we will drive through the expansive primary rainforest of the Braulio Carrillo National Park. |
